Soap bubbles are formed because packets of air get trapped into the solution, which forms thin layers to cover it up. Adding soap to water reduces its surface tension by around three times the original. Thus the soap solution is able to 'stretch' itself to create the soap bubble. Addition of corn syrup makes the solution more viscous, making it more difficult for the bubbles to burst.
For making the shapes to blow the bubbles through we have used the furry bendable wire, also known as pipe cleaners. This is better than a normal wire because it holds more soap solution in the fur to allow bigger/more bubbles to be made with every dip.<a href="http://www.dartofscience.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/BS3.png"><img class="size-medium wp-image-681 alignright" src="http://www.dartofscience.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/BS3-300x169.png" alt="BS3" width="300" height="169" /></a>
In the second part of the experiment, we mixed some fluorescent ink into the solution and watch the bubbles under a UV light. Fluorescent ink is created using 'optical whiteners', or dyes that emit white light when UV light falls on them. When our solution is exposed to UV lights, the pigment in the solution radiates light while also reflecting the incident light on it. This is why the solution and the bubbles glow.)
